Dreaded power steering issue

   I have just picked up a cheap and cheerful Micra Sport C+C, which generally seemsfairly sound, apart from the lack of power steering.
Reading a fair bit, it seems a super common fault, but have found various ways/means
and prices for resolving.

First up - is there any advice for checking what/where the fault actually is?
And how to identify exactly which motor/module is fitted?
Citi Auto Centre has a replacement (below) for Â£145.95 which seems fairly reasonable.
But also states there are 3 variants, plus of course whether this is actually the faulty 
part. Any advice greatly received.
