Does anyone on here have any in depth knowlege about the Sat-Nav set-up? I obtained a later disc for mine (Running on X6) but the disc is invisible (cannot be read) by the reader (CD Player) of the Sat-Nav system.

Are the discs and the Players coded to each other? If so, is there any way to circumvent this so that any Nissan Disc can be used and the Sat-Nav will read it or are we at the mercy of Nissan or Navteq and £160 ish for a disc upgrade?

All help appreciated, thanks

if its a copy the nav units are really stroppy about the brand of disc thay read

you need a decent disc and burn it at a slow speed

Also depends on the system you have in your car/truck to what disc you need, nope there not coded to each other

cd/dvd from nissan range from £250 - 300+ depending on the system and not all systems run on the navtaq maps

No, it is Not a copy but a genuine Nissan Disc, just a later version than the X6 but the Player+Sat-Nav just does not 'see' it and says there is no disc inserted. There must be some form of code or password protect within the system. I will get the data off both discs and let you know their versions, see what you think may be the problem - Thanks Flash,

Right, The one that works OK is: Map Version Code EOE 237 R 25920 BA020 DVM-X6040(EU)

The later one is: EOE 363 R 25920 JU40A DVM-1405E

Any ideas why it won't 'see' the later one?

Cheers
