Hi, I have purchased a Nissan Elgrand as an import from Japan and over the past thirteen months have experienced difficulties in getting this vehicle registered with the DVLA due to a loss/misplacement of some original documents from the previous owner to myself. My last application to the DVLA was returned by them stating that I require evidence from the manufacturer or an owners club confirming its date of original registration and manufacture, which I have on a copy export certificate but this copy is not acceptable.
I am hopeful that a member of a Nissan owner's club would be in a position to assist me in this endeavour to register the Elgrand and provide a letter on letter headed paper and if so I will forward details and photographs as confirmation of this vehicle.
Please help if you can, thirteen months is a long time waiting.
